Disibility Rights Information
Disability Rights UK has been formed through a unification of Disability Alliance, Radar and National Centre for Independent Living on 1 January 2012. We aim to be the largest national pan-disability organisation led by disabled people.
Travel companies may try to increase your insurance premiums if you have a pre-existing medical condition, it is suggested that you shop around if this happens. You will need to make sure that your travel insurance company is aware that you have an ICD or pacemaker. Below is a list of insurers we have found to be sympathetic to travellers who have a heat condition. Please note that inclusion on the list does not constitute approval from Arrhythmia Alliance.

In addition to travel insurance, all travellers within the European Economic Area are advised to apply for a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). EHIC replaced the old E111 in 2006.
Your EHIC lets you get state healthcare at a reduced cost or sometimes for free. It will cover you for treatment that is needed to allow you to continue your stay until your planned return. It also covers you for treatment of pre-existing medical conditions and for routine maternity care, as long as you're not going abroad to give birth.
