Dear Friends/Colleagues
My apologies for disturbing you, but I would be very grateful if those of you who implant bradycardia/ICD devices could spare what I hope will be a relatively short amount of time filling in this questionnaire on antibiotic prophylaxis and anticoagulation. It has always struck me how variable practice is in this respect, and I hope to gain some insight into the UK perspective at the very least. The results will of course be widely available and may stimulate interest in addressing this in a more formal manner in the future.
You will see that the form has text boxes that allow you to type in answers directly, as well as some responses that can be deleted as appropriate. This can then be saved and sent back by e-mail if you wish, which I hope will minimise any inconvenience. As with all questionnaires the more responses received, the more reliable the final information. Therefore please do copy this on to any other implanters that you know, or if you feel it is inappropriate for you to complete the questionnaire yourself then do send it on to anyone you feel would be more appropriate.
