Step One

Why should I fundraise?

Fundraising can give you an overwhelming sense of achievement and will challenge you beyond your normal day to day routine. You may make new friends, bring your community together, improve your fitness and/or use skills that you may have but can’t use in your normal school/work life. As well as this, you will know that you are helping Arrhythmia Alliance to improve the quality of life for individuals suffering with an abnormal heart rhythm.

Where will my money go?

£10 will pay for 30 medically approved booklets to be printed and sent out to people suffering with a heart rhythm disorder, providing them with support and guidance on their condition.

£15 will pay for 2 information packs to be sent out to medical professionals and the general public, helping to increase both public and medical awareness of cardiac arrhythmias.

£20 will pay for patients to attend a patient day where they will be able to speak to a specialist about their condition.

£30 will allow us to print and send out 1000 pulse check sheets to schools, helping us make a whole school of bright, young people, ‘pulse aware.’

Your money will also go towards all of these amazing things too…

Providing a 24 hour helpline where any of the 2 million people in the UK suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia can phone for support, guidance and information.

Placing AED(Automated External Defibrillator)’s in communities, increasing the chance of someone surviving a Sudden Cardiac Arrest to 50% with CPR.

Running the Know Your Pulse campaign, making the general public ‘pulse aware’, ensuring that the general public are aware that taking your pulse is as important as seeing how much you weigh or checking your blood pressure.

What skills and experience do I need?

You do not need any experience or specialist skills as a fundraiser, just enthusiasm and commitment. Whatever your plans, Arrhythmia Alliance will provide all the necessary support, materials and guidance for your event or activity.

How much time do I have to give?

This really depends on you and your choice of fundraising activity. It is often considered that the more you put in, the more you will get out. There are many simple and effective ways that you can get involved with; no event or activity is too small!

How will Arrhythmia Alliance support you?

Although Arrhythmia Alliance is unable to provide financial support for your events, we can provide you with free promotional and educational resources. Once you have decided on an activity or event, Arrhythmia Alliance will:

  • Provide you with promotional materials: flyers, leaflets, posters, collection boxes, sponsorship forms and t-shirts.
  • Help promote your event: we can add the details of your fundraising to our monthly e-bulletin and website.
  • Organise a personalised fundraising web page: where your friends and family can donate online to support your event or activity.
  • Offer you tips and guidance: we will always be at the end of a phone or email to help and support you in your fundraising efforts.
  • Help with media coverage: Order a press pack from Arrhythmia Alliance, to give you advice and materials for advertising your event or activity.
